12 Inch 08.09.15
18+ return with their they remixes ep, a collaboration with artists they respect and admire, with a purpose to reinvent their favourite tracks taken from their critically acclaimed debut album trust . featured artists include the distorted trap beat darling suicideyear (prod. for yung lean), experimental grime producer mr. mitch, and the cult portuguese collective tia maria producoes. the final feature is relatively unknown puerto rican artist audri nix, whose unofficial remix for crow first caught the attention of the band for its similarities to their own aesthetic and magpie-like approach to art. sung all in spanish, audri provides original lyrics just keeping the band’s beats. the 12inch is cut & mastered by matt colton
celebrating all that s ear-piercing and techno, p.e.a.r.l. surges through with an emanating soundscape of near, far and leftfield embodiment of energy. following on from the well received ground fault interrupt, p.e.a.r.l. brings his spanish stamina and berlin influence to the table in biblical amounts. abrasive and dancefloor-focused -desolation- is no stranger to the harder sounds of percussion. with a subtle ghost, and ever tense, this track rides through red traffic lights, and begins at the end of your comfort zone, techno at its best. evoking a visceral reaction, -in space- exerts its crude, unearthly series of paranormal techno sound from the get go. a long drawn tool of the trade, comprising of little more than drone and percussion, this gives way to be adapted into any mix in the right hands. -flame on earth- doffs in salutation to the afterparty. with a constant identity of beep and bleeps - continually growing from somewhere from within itself - this track leaves a trail where no path lies. cascading between dark and light, this is a release of effectual techno worthy of any record bag, regardless of your sub-genre preference - a real weapon of profession

lil silvas new 3-track release with good years is aimed strictly for club play. beginning with the surging energy of drumatic and followed by the silky electronics of new squeeze and the minimalistic swing of 606, it highlights the bedford producers uk grime roots together with timbaland-like idiosyncratic sonic ticks and afro-centric syncopation. all three tracks have received strong radio support from the likes gilles peterson, mary anne hobbs, toddla t, monki and benji b on bbc radio 1, 6music and 1xtra, as well as plays across rinse and kiss fm a release that further cements silvas reputation as one of the countries leading production lights.
like any good techno producer, moscow electronic producer harry light envelops his stage image by a veil of mystery, preferring to communicate with his audience exclusively through the music. its more than enough in his case. harry lights music is artsy and ascetic. theres nothing superfluous and it sounds extremely good, the louder the better revealing its great potential. regarding harrys stylistic range, it extends from well recognized german techno and minimalistic deep house to dub and deep techno. it also can be easily read by the label names where harrys music being released. theres anton kubikovs iconic label pro-tez, highway records sub-label whats in the box and trendy young imprint electronica. important addition to this list will be a release on kiev vinyl label artreform. on this new release titled resistance harry light has managed to show all the best sides of his eclectic sound.

mark e makes a rapid return after the hugely successful e-versions series, we now embark e-work! while e-versions celebrated the full, dazzling shimmer of the disco ball lit dancefloor, e-work turns down the lights, and turns up the system for some pared down sonic sorcery mark channels his years of experience, digging, djing and producing to distill the essence of the chicago house blueprint & divert into an altogether more 21st century destination emotive, muscular machine jams then, in vocal and instrumental versions. lets work!
psyth launches with the debut ep from rob shields. with a delicate urgency driven by a pulsating post-punk bassline, shards lavishes layer upon rich layer of sound, evoking the cool grooves of peaking lights and chromatics, while a shimmering vocal sample from rebecca sawyer adds an otherworldly sense of longing that echoes through the soul of the release. silhouetted appears more conventional and dance-floor friendly next to shards, but under the surface is something unique and strangely exotic. a mantra-like melody loop gives a nod to minimalist composer terry riley and his solo organ works, while world instruments such as an african kalimba and tibetan singing bowl only heighten the hypnotic and intoxicating quality even further.
we first introduced these strapping young house aficionados from sligo, ireland, with their debut ep as a pair, street urchin, a little over a year ago. since then the guys have been busy with a massive release on dam swindle’s label heist, not to mention their unbridled musical passion lead them to launch their own label splendor & squalor beginning of this year, kicking things off with a sell out vinyl only pressing of another four track ep of their own imaginings featuring a hot remix from session victim. were pleased to share with you their latest creation, the stunning lamajs secret ep

the furnace series is a two-part compilation of music inspired by a special room in the montreal apartment shared by booma collective from 2012-2014. when venues to throw parties became scarce, booma used this room leading to the fire escape in the back of the apartment known as the furnace as a space for small gatherings among close friends. the furnace series is a collection of memories of those intimate parties and impromptu jam sessions. part one features four tracks by booma collective founders and friends, beginning with psyche, a hypnotic, dub-techno inspired composition with oscillating, piercing sounds, evoking whistling flurries. solparas garden in the furnace echoes the hollowed-out concrete architecture of the furnace itself, filling up then emptying its atmosphere with layered drum machines and ghostly voices. cf01 is the result of feedback experimentation carefully arranged into a slow tribal jam. oren ratowsky. producer of booma collectives first vinyl release, rounds off the b side with gorby, an eleven and a half minute exploration of his mastery of analog synthesizers.

PULL FICTION (M.IN, STEVE COLE & RONALD CHRISTOPH MIXES)
12 Inch 20.05.15
eddy romero & frink were digging in the rock formations beneath earth s crust and have quarried a track which was forged into the newest schallbox-vinyl straight by the pressure of the continental plates! schallbox018 is an expedition through a scarcely lit tunnel, down into a mysterious and cryptic underworld. the tracks pull fiction and element unfold a maelstrom that takes us ever deeper down into a dark abyss. pull fiction in m.ins remix version is a percussive club monster that gives over to sparsely flickering lights revealing the way onwards, while the mystical voices in steve cole & ronald christophs remix of element take us back into the daylight again.

10 track 12- on collectable japanese label -snaker-. leaving signature fm synthesis work arcade game, blends with soft reggae feelings, his programming make more minimalismic, polyrhythmic and even funky approach through eerie, vertiginous, glistering and ominous without long dramatic notes. this primary sound make us mad, it has something common to lo-fi feeling or row house groove.

after one year since the first release night visions, the nightdrivers team is back for another race on their own imprint with a bunch of fresh, obscure and rolling bangers named nightlights: the record starts with the mutant and spastic tech funk of the epic bright lights, a totally sweat walled basement track where a dirty, crispy and crunchy disco break combines with an edgy, syncopated 909 driving beat while a cheeky melody of party-bells going slightly out of tune runs on the top of it.
roter&lewis is a dj and production team where music is all about the groove. the track - green lights opens up and is kind of a nu disco sound that makes you dance right away with a smile on your face. - down follows with a deep, hypnotic and more percussive groove which makes this release a sure shot!

and so lux rec continue to reach out for all those ephemeral, eery noises which are so dear to them. unlit corners on half emptied dance floors. give in to suffer, loss and sadness. embrace it. believe...
lux recs first record for 2015 is a dark and moody affair coming from momentform, a french musician that has no fear to plunge into obscurity, melancholy, a somber look into memories that are too painful to forget. yet, he transformed all those postcards from the past into listening and dance material. our last dance together. turn off the lights when leaving.
pressing on dark translucent, smikey marbled vinyl.
it was the light. that was it. she was trying to remember what brought her to this desolate, godforsaken place. the way the moon and the stars made the shadows dance, it was magic. she slipped into a trance just thinking about it, forgetting at once the decay and the damned all around her. the shadows had fallen still long ago. then the darkness poured in. it had filled her. swallowed her whole. how long had it been now? she couldnt remember. the paper of her hands, the dust in her mouth, she barely noticed. far from any road there was a massive building with a lot of concrete rooms. inside it, a labyrinth path to bid farewell.
there are times when the ocean is not the ocean - not blue, not even water, but some violent explosion of energy and danger: ferocity on a scale only gods can summon. it hurls itself at the island, sending spray right over the top of the lighthouse, biting pieces off the cliff. and the sound is a roaring of a beast whose anger knows no limits. those are the nights the light is needed most. - m.l. stedman

roger gerressen about his project >lunar phases< : -when thinking about the lights of the night the first thing that came to my mind was the moon. you look at it daily and we are all affected by it so much. since the project contains eight tracks and the moon travels through eight phases every month it seemed like an obvious choice to choose this subject for the lp. the first part of the lp is the >new moon<, when the people (and the music) are mellow and relaxed. the second part of the lp is darker, faster and more chaotic, which is more likely to be the effect a >full moon< has on people.-
the first new 12- single from echospace in 2014, engineered and mixed down from 1/4- analog tape and mastered by the talented fellas at alchemy mastering in london. focusing and enriching every finite detail. this ep features 2 new pieces of sonic meditation residing somewhere between space and time, somewhere in the cosmos. with the title track, -under starlit sky-, vaporous atmospheres emerge from the distance, while ghostly apparitions and analog modulations rise to the surface of a truly hypnotizing rhythm, submerging the mind deep into an analog world. with the -live- version a mixture of themes from -fading lights- and -under starlit sky- find an engaging syncopation, resting somewhere in the ether. those who loved echospace s -the coldest season- on modern love will have plenty to adore here. only 1 per customer
none of them make music for the twenty-second century. the duo is constantly deconstructing its stylistic boundaries and follows traditions only to destroy them. on stage, signup (anymouse, big zis, grenzgänger) is the master of ceremony, michal ho (tuning spork, nicetry, etc.) is the selector. vocals glide over beats generated in little boxes full of flashing lights, sometimes smooth, sometimes razor-sharp. the debut album *one of them* will be released on nicetry records and comes on double 12 inch vinyl with download code included.
